The interior is very cozy and open, which we absolutely loved. I got their burger: the patty was good, and the lettuce and onions were very fresh and crisp. <3 My mom got their dish with eggs and ham on English muffins, and the ham was absolutely delicious! I tried a bite; it was nice and smoky. I’m not usually a ham person, but I’m definitely getting that next time. My stepmom got their chicken sandwich and she loved it. The chicken was a generous, meaty cut which is definitely appreciated. They seem to be a very popular spot for lunch/brunch so a little patience is recommended if you want to go during prime hours. About 25 minutes for the food is definitely not bad at all given how incredibly busy they were, but I can see an impatient person getting upset over that. The prices, about $20 for most entrees is pretty average for a restaurant meal, so I wouldn’t call it expensive, which with the quality of the food is a pleasant surprise!
The service is amazing! The bacon and sweet potato tots are my go-to. It can be tough to chat and hear well when it’s busy. Not my favorite atmosphere. It’s also gotten very pricey so it’s become a special occasion spot instead of a regular spot like it used to be.
Great place with good food. Recommend their fried chicken sandwich and the fish n chips
The Spenard Roadhouse is a home away from home. With their signature cocktails to their amazing tots, this is a place that is upscale casual for that combo down to earth burger, to fare that any fussy foodie would enjoy. Located in the heart of Spenard you are sure to spot some local dignitaries bellied up to the bar. And the friendly atmosphere you can only find in the heart of the city which is Spenard.
Family friendly, looks small on the outside, but seems much bigger inside. And there are several places to sit. We went for dinner and were able to sit at the bar without a wait. They had great drink specials and food was out of this world!! SOO DELICIOUS!! By far my favorite restaurant on our trip to AK. The menu had a little bit of everything. I wished we were staying another night to eat here again.
After living in Anchorage for over 10 years, I finally tried Spenard Roadhouse on 27 June. I am kicking myself in the @$$ for not trying it out sooner. The staff were great and the food was amazing. We had calamari and beet carpaccio for appetizers and halibut & fries, shrimp & grits, salmon burger, regular burger, and strawberry shortcake to top off the meal. Everyone loved their food and we all will be visiting again soon.
We loved the atmosphere here. The playlist was good. It got louder when more people came in, but it was the buzz of everyone talking normally, not people hollering to be heard over the din. The staff was very nice. The drinks were delicious. I got the Rhubarbara Streisand and my wife got the Orange Sunryse with gin instead of whiskey. My wife got the Reindeer Scramble with tots. She said it was delicious. The eggs were seasoned. It was spicy, but not too spicy. She made a point to note how incredibly fresh all the produce is. I got the Veggie Benedict with a side of mac n cheese. Usually when they say pesto is an ingredient, you can barely taste it. Not this time!! And the mac n cheese.... omg chef's kiss!!! The sauce was creamy, the crumb on top was flavorful but without being too salty, the noodles were just right. I eat a lot of bennies and a LOT of mac n cheese. This was by far the BEST benny and the BEST mac n cheese I've ever had out. 1000/10 most highly recommend
Absolutely wonderful service! I forgot the name of our server, but she came to every table in her section to ensure they had water. Very kind people and wonderful family friendly atmosphere as always! My sister and me had the Mac & Cheese and delicious Jambalaya bowl!
